Good morning, afternoon or whenever you’re reading this,

I hope you all are having a lovely time enjoying the beautiful weather and are not trapped in a windowless building studying for finals like me. It’s that time of year, the inevitable crunch season.

But on the bright side, we’re almost through it! So enjoy the sun and get yourself that iced coffee — you deserve it!

And while you’re at it, read our news! We have some lovely stories about the talented bands performing in Spring Jam, an upcoming author, Prince and more!

Until next time,

Porch performances to festival stages: A Q&A with the Spring Jam bands

by Abbey Mulcahy | Staff Reporter | Published April 20, 2026

On April 25, five bands will take to the Riverbend Plaza stage behind Coffman Union in the final showdown of Battle of the Bands. Only one will emerge victorious.

Syncline is the first band performing Saturday, consisting of three brothers and their friend: Jacob and Caleb Goetz on guitar and vocals, their drummer Connor Goetz and Taliesin Sutton on bass.

The band came together last year in April, but Caleb and Connor Goetz had been playing music together for years. Their first performance as a whole group was at Jacob Goetz’s house. Since then, their sound has formed into a sort of indie alternative rock.
