The Rouser

November 2, 2025

Despite being a California native, I am not pleased at all with the Dodgers taking their second consecutive World Series win. I can’t believe the Angels wasted that much of Ohtani’s talent. Continuing with baseball, the Twins have a new manager Derek Shelton! I am still trying to find one Twins fan who is actually pleased with this decision. Personally, I would never take anyone from the Pirates organization (unless its a pitcher) and expect success…

Anyway! Gophers basketball is starting tomorrow and I am deeply excited to see where both teams will go this season.

Happy Sunday,

Gopher Women’s Basketball team moves forward after Heyer’s surprise exit

by Samantha Roering | Published October 31, 2025

A week and a half before the first tipoff, most teams have a pretty good sense of their season identity.

For Gopher Women’s Basketball, that shifted unexpectedly last week when Minnesota native and forward Mallory Heyer announced she would not be returning for her final season.

Heyer took to social media to share the news of her departure.

“For personal reasons, I will be closing this chapter of my career in Minnesota and entering the transfer portal to find a new home as a graduate transfer,” Heyer wrote.
