Daily Summer Recap - Part 4

August 19th, 2025

Good morning,

Hope you are having a wonderful Tuesday. Quite frankly, though, I think you can fit in a little more wonder. For starters, maybe wondering about Gopher football forecasts for the upcoming season? Or maybe the PJ Fleck contract extension? Gopher volleyball prospects peak your fancy? It’s all included below, home-slice. You won’t regret it.

For world news, check out info on the recent Trump-Putin meetings, what’s going down in DC, some crime stories from the STRIB, and the fact that Skibidi has been added to the Cambridge Dictionary.

Stay magical,

Crystal Ball: How Minnesota football could finish in 2025

By Regan Guirguis | Published June 26, 2025

The Minnesota Gophers are set to play 12 teams during the regular 2025 season.

After losing starting quarterback Max Brosmer to the NFL, the Gophers will most likely be starting redshirt freshman Drake Lindsey. Lindsey played in only three games last year, all of which the Gophers had strong leads in.

This upcoming year will show how Lindsey fares in close, under-pressure games. Out of the Gophers’ 12 games, seven of them will be played on home turf at Huntington Bank Stadium.
