It’s Thursday, which means you are almost done with your first week of school. Pretty hectic, huh? A lot has happened in the past couple days, including an internal Teamsters vote, protests and more. If I was a betting man I’d put big money on you finding these stories pretty informative.
I won’t keep you, you crazy cat. Get that reading in, yeah?

Teamsters likely to turn down final UMN offer

The University of Minnesota’s Teamsters Local 320, a Minneapolis workers’ union chapter, announced Wednesday morning in a statement to the Minnesota Daily that the chapter anticipates voting down the University’s final offer, calling it an insult to the union.
The Teamsters announced in early August they filed an intent to strike with the University as labor bargaining negotiations stagnated. While votes on the University’s offer continue on the Duluth and Crookston campuses, the Teamsters said the offer will be voted down and the final ballot count initiated on Friday.
The strike was initially intended to begin August 20, but Teamsters extended negotiations to conduct a vote on the University’s offer given to the Union on August 19, according to WDIO news.
