Gophers rally around suspended teammates ahead of Duluth series

As the final face-off of Sunday’s Gopher women’s hockey game against the Ohio State University concluded, tempers boiled over.

Moments after the last puck drop, an Ohio State player pushed down and cross-checked Minnesota junior Emma Kreisz. What started as normal shoving escalated quickly after the whistle.

That is because just a few feet away, sophomore Gracie Graham and freshman Kassidy Carmichael began exchanging punches fresh out of the box. Three Buckeyes quickly joined in, all going after Graham. Sophomore Chloe Primerano was the first Minnesota player to come to Graham’s defense.
