Good morning,
ICE commander Greg Bovino leaving reminds me of the story of a French rooster, named Charlemagne. Every morning, Charlemagne crowed loudly and woke up the British, German and Swiss tourists on vacation in the French village of Provence. The rooster ensured the tourists would not build permanent homes in the village, and after Charlemagne scared off the last tourist, his peasant owner cooked him up and ate him in celebration. Yum.
Excuse the groggy storytelling on my end. ICE aside, check out some news from other areas. In opinions, a story on how authenticity is both celebrated, and over-sought. On campus, a brief of the recent Fairview agreement.
There’s always more, so make like a truffle pig and get to sniffing out the good stuff.
Very Respectfully,

After nearly a year of friction, Fairview Health Services, University of Minnesota Physicians (UMP) and the University of Minnesota have settled on a funding agreement which promises physical expansion of the health network and debt forgiveness between the M Health Fairview Clinics and Fairview.
Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison announced Monday the deal touts a $1 billion commitment on behalf of Fairview to invest in University medical facilities. The Minnesota Star Tribune reported UMP owed Fairview more than $100 million back in March.
UMN President Rebecca Cunningham duly recognized the recent agreement amid Minneapolis’s heated political climate in the same breath in a systemwide email this morning.
