Good morning holy fools,

It’s April 2, and I hope you preserved your dignity from yesterday’s foolish festivities. Like Xenia of St. Petersburg, foolishness can be wiser than wisdom — but now, it’s time to cease jesting and read some smackin’ news articles.

Top story is a feature of the new cafe replacing Annie’s parlor. A&E and photo desk did an awesome collab on the No Kings protest, and we have the first in a three-part series on AI from opinions. If you are auditorily inclined, listen to the sports desk discuss softball and the Sweet 16.

Catch up on what we have — the wise woman knows her fate. The fool merely finds it.

Very respectfully,

Sam Hill | Managing Editor | [email protected]

Coffee shop, Two for Tripping, hopes to revitalize Dinkytown

by Trevor Dunning | City Reporter | Published April 1, 2026

Two for Tripping, a new coffee shop in Dinkytown housed in the former Annie’s Parlour building, had its grand opening March 26.

Annie’s Parlour reopened in spring 2024, after being closed for four years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The restaurant closed for good in July 2025, after 50 years of business, the Minnesota Daily reported

Two for Tripping Director of Operations Latif Kamara said he wants to create a space of hospitality that welcomes everyone and helps revitalize Dinkytown.

“We’ve seen a decline in the last couple years,” Kamara said. “I think the only way for it to really thrive and succeed is for not only college students and alumni to come down, but also people who live in the Minneapolis area.”
