I edited so many stories last night. And boy, is my carpal tunnel acting up! I’m sorry, it’s the end of the semester; I am really tired — let’s get into the news.
If you have ever wondered how Coffman Union received (and kept) its name, campus desk has a bit of the history and controversy around the name. City desk covered St. Paul Mayor Kaohly Her’s State of the City address.
A&E spoke with a local artist about her debut novel that touches on grief and questions of identity. And opinions brings you a column about the absurdity of “Euphoria” and access to menstrual resources.
And that’s not even all the new content!
Stay golden,

Do you know the history of the buildings you walk into every day?
Seven years ago, a cohort of academics and students assembled a task force to urge the University of Minnesota Board of Regents to change buildings with controversial names. Despite a years-long battle, Nicholson Hall remains the only building renamed.
Nicholson Hall, now known as 216 Pillsbury Hall, awaits a formal title at a nameless standstill — the Board never got past removing its former name.
Coffman Union, Nicholson Hall, Middlebrook Hall and Coffey Hall, the other 3 buildings recommended in the task force report, have also remained untouched since the Task Force on Building Names and Institutional History Report.
