Welcome back,
If you were handed a million dollars right now, no strings attached, what would you do with it? Would you spend it all while you had it, or would you ration your wealth into your old age? I’d probably spend it on buffalo wings and nice shoes. Maybe a Lego set, too.
Looking beyond thought experiments, we have plenty of updates for you from the University and beyond. To close out the week, we take a look at some new work from our photo team, the University’s Vice President of Finance and Operations stepping down and administrative changes in the School of Journalism and Mass Communications. Check it out below.
Catch ya on the flip side,

Photo Story: Minnesotans Challenge ICE-Related Conspiracy Charges in July Protest
by Henry Creel | Staff Photographer | Published July 9, 2026
Around 200 protestors showed up to support the 15 defendants accused of conspiracy against United States Immigrations and Customs Enforcement during Operation Metro Surge on Wednesday, July 1, at the Diana E. Murphy United States Courthouse in Minneapolis.
The defendant’s arraignment was scheduled for 1 p.m, but by noon, there was already a group of around 30 people outside of City Hall, across the street from the courthouse. Many protesters were members of different local labor unions, including the Minneapolis Federation of Teachers, the Minnesota Nurses Association and the Graduate Labor Union.
14 of the 15 defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges during the arraignment. U.S. Attorney General Todd Blanche addressed the protesters’ actions in a press release from the Department of Justice on June 16.
