Whether or not you celebrate Easter, I assume if you have walked into a store recently, you have been bombarded with Easter-themed items. The one I want to bring attention to is Peeps. This could be a hot take, but I love Peeps, specifically Dr. Pepper flavored.
I will say, they are getting out of hand with the flavors. There is no need for Rice Krispie flavored Peeps. But there is a need to be informed, so we have for you: a story about Gopher women’s basketball player Amaya Battle’s legacy, a column about when reality TV starts becoming exploitative instead of entertaining and Gopher football’s spring practice. Take a look.
Stay golden,

by Samantha Roering | Sports Reporter | Published April 2, 2026
Amaya Battle’s legacy as a Gopher was never going to come down to a single shot, not after spending all four years wearing the “M” and sticking through a coaching change.
Yet, there will always be the moment she drained the game-winning shot that sent Minnesota to its first Sweet 16 in more than 20 years.
That is the type of highlight that follows a player forever, but for Battle, it is not the full story. It might not even be the most important part.

by Nhiache Xiong | Cartoonist | Published March 30, 2026
Retiring GOP Sen. Thom Tillis’s criticism of Kristi Noem’s leadership of ICE operations in Minneapolis shows politicians are only capable of fighting back against their own party when they no longer face reelection.
