Minneapolis lost $203 million due to Operation Metro Surge

Operation Metro Surge cost the Minneapolis economy and community at least $203 million in one month, according to an assessment released by the City of Minneapolis.
The report outlines losses to workers, small businesses and city operations during a period when up to 3,000 federal immigration enforcement agents operated in neighborhoods across Minneapolis.
In the livelihood sector alone, the city estimates $47 million in lost wages from residents who were afraid to leave home and go to work, and $81 million in revenue for restaurants and small businesses.
