Greetings and happy Thursday!
If you’re like me and are eagerly awaiting the release of the new BTS album, tomorrow is a very exciting day. For those of you who aren’t counting down the minutes until release day and need something to look forward to, we have many new stories below!
In sports, Minnesota parts ways with men’s hockey coach Bob Motzko. For city news, a proposed bill would limit federal agents near schools, and controversy follows Mayor Jacob Frey’s veto of an ordinance that would extend eviction orders. Campus has a story on a new bus route, and A&E recaps Twin Cities events with Patti Smith. Last but not least, the opinions desk has a Women’s History Month column on feminist resistance.
Happy reading!

The University of Minnesota is starting anew in hockey leadership.
Just a day after Gophers women’s hockey head coach Brad Frost’s firing, athletic director Mark Coyle announced Minnesota has parted ways with men’s hockey coach Bob Motzko.
The news was first confirmed by Fox 9 sports director Jim Rich and then later confirmed by the University.
In a press release, athletic director Mark Coyle said the decision was mutual, despite Motzko having two years left on his contract. Coyle had few words for Motzko, complimenting the coach and his work.
