Welcome back. This weekend was, dare I say, warm. Not warm enough for me to want to walk around, but warm enough where I didn’t lose feeling in my fingers after stepping outside.
Catch up on women’s hockey, see how well our A&E team predicted the Grammy’s and see how Minneapolis comes together in tough times. We have a wide variety, so I am sure there is something.
Stay golden,

How Minneapolis businesses are standing with their immigrant neighbors
by Shay Scanlan | City Reporter | Published Feb. 2, 2026
On Wednesday afternoon, servers poured coffee and community members chatted at Modern Times cafe in south Minneapolis. It was business as usual, except every item was free.
Owner Dylan Alverson announced on Jan. 25 that the cafe will operate on a donation basis as “Post Modern Times” until Immigration and Customs Enforcement and related federal agencies leave the Twin Cities.
As the first week draws to a close, the cafe has already received enough donations to cover expenses for the next month, Alverson said. Donations are pouring in from around the world.
Alverson’s announcement came one day after ICE agents shot and killed Alex Pretti in south Minneapolis, a little more than a mile from the cafe. Alverson was at the scene shortly after Pretti was shot.
