Daily Breakdown

Wednesday, March 4, 2026

Happy Wednesday! We are almost to spring break. While you may not hear directly from me, you will hear from some of our desk editors next week. Maybe you can read the Daily while on a beach or your couch or in a cabin.

Today, we have an opinion column arguing that the media can help show aging as a positive. Our video and A&E desk editor took a trip to the Science Museum for their more adult-centered night, and you see how the baseball team performed this past weekend.

Stay golden,

by Callie Burch | Columnist | Published March 3, 2026

Generation Z women have a harrowing fear of aging. In all fairness, it’s not exactly their fault. Media targeted at young women tries its best to justify those fears by how it portrays getting old.

University of Minnesota cultural studies and comparative literature professor Maggie Hennefeld said Gen Z women seeing negative representations of aging can have personal ramifications for young women.
