Gov. Tim Walz confirmed the deaths of Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband at a press conference this morning.
Minnesota lawmakers shot, suspect still unidentified
Two Democrat lawmakers, Rep. Melissa Hortman and Sen. John Hoffman, and their spouses were shot in their homes overnight by someone impersonating a police officer, in what police are calling a targeted attack, according to the Minnesota Star Tribune.
According to Fox 9, Hortman, Hoffman and their spouses were shot in their Brooklyn Park and Champlain homes. Gov. Tim Walz confirmed the deaths of Hortman and her husband at a press conference this morning.
A shelter-in-place order is in effect near Edinburgh Golf Course in Brooklyn Park as a manhunt is underway. The suspect is considered armed and dangerous.
